Almost Olive
Friday, June 19, 2026 7:30 PM
Come see Almost Olive in our intimate upstairs room. Almost Olive is an alternative folk duo from Boston crafting songs and tunes that balance groove and heart. They are Jacqui Armbruster and Karl Henry: two likeminded, multi-faceted multi-instrumentalists who bring their omnivorous musical approaches to songwriting and arranging, crafting songs and tunes informed by tradition and inspired by the ever-changing musical landscape that surrounds them. Through vulnerable storytelling, tight vocal harmony, infectious groove, and the occasional detour through an old time romp, the duo explores the vastness of the human experience through two voices and four hands constantly at work.

Peter Mulvey
Friday, September 18, 2026 7:30 PM
Peter Mulvey has been a songwriter, road-dog, raconteur and almost-poet since before he can remember. Raised working-class Catholic on the Northwest side of Milwaukee, he took a semester in Ireland, and immediately began cutting classes to busk on Grafton Street in Dublin and hitchhike through the country, finding whatever gigs he could. Back stateside, he spent a couple years gigging in the Midwest before lighting out for Boston, where he returned to busking (this time in the subway) and coffeehouses. Small shows led to larger shows, which eventually led to regional and then national and international touring. The wheels have not stopped since.

Ellis Paul
Friday, October 16, 2026 7:30 PM
Ellis Paul doesn’t just write songs; he’s a guitar-carrying reporter who covers the human condition and details the hopes, loves, losses of those he observes, turning their stories into luminous pieces of music that get under your skin and into your bloodstream. And much like the artists who have influenced him, everyone from Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon to the singer-songwriter who is undoubtedly his greatest inspiration, Woody Guthrie, Paul weaves deeply personal experiences with social issues and renders them as provocative works that are as timely as they are timeless.

Abbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player with an infectious smile. Whether performing solo or with Americana harmony trio Red Molly, her acclaimed tales of love and loss, both gritty and sweet, are propelled by her impeccable lap style slide guitar playing. Solo performances feature the dobro as a solo instrument, bouncing between a solid rhythmic backbone and ripping lead lines, all in support of her voice and songs.
"Abbie is leaving her mark by trailblazing a new path. She has fused her dobro playing, singing, and songwriting into a seamless vehicle of musical expression. If you have never seen Abbie live you owe it to yourself to do so… and if you have seen her live… you know what I am talking about."

Veranda is a French-Canadian group making a big impression in the world of acoustic music. Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle and Léandre Joly-Pelletier, the group’s two founding members, come from very different backgrounds, which is part of what gives their work such richness. Catherine-Audrey, first and foremost an actress, brings freshness and sensitivity to their music. Léandre, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, infuses the songs with his virtuosity. Veranda offers a perfect blend of influences, skillfully pairing the simplicity of old-time country with the technical flair of bluegrass, delivering rich melodies elevated by refined harmonic work.
